As a bilingual daughter of Mexican immigrants, Yajaira Lopez can relate to and empathize with the immigrant community in Watsonville. Yajaira hopes to use her advocacy to educate the immigrant community about the rights and protections they can access. She believes educating the immigrant community in a language they can understand is a step closer to help those lost navigating a complex immigration system. Yajaira graduated from Monterey College of Law. Her host organization is Community Action Board of Santa Cruz, in Watsonville, California.
