East Bay Community Law Center

East Bay Community Law Center (EBCLC) proactively supports the long-term health of Black and Brown people impacted by systematic barriers by writing and championing statewide policies aligned with our mission of racial justice. Through EBCLC’s robust policy advocacy, Californians have won millions of dollars in discharged court debt, rock-solid consumer protections, and transformative civil rights for children, workers, and whole communities. Over the past three decades, EBCLC has been steadily working to challenge the many ways our Black and Brown clients are criminalized, surveilled, and oppressed by police through movement lawyering. East Bay Community Law Center received $50,000 in funding in 2022 and $40,000 in 2023.
