Osvaldo Hidalgo Otamendi grew up in Madera, CA and is the son of two parents from Mexico. He is passionate about immigration and criminal reform. Osvaldo has volunteered in detention centers in southern Arizona helping detained people with their removal/asylum cases and represented a client in an appellate removal case in the 9th Circuit. He graduated from UCLA and from Santa Clara University Law School. His host organization is Community Justice Alliance in Fresno, California.
