Born in Guatemala and raised in San Diego County, Nancy Nova is fluent in three languages: her primary language, Canjobal, a Guatemalan dialect, Spanish, and English. Her biggest passion is traveling and advocating for animal rights. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish from the University of California Santa Barbara and went on to earn her Juris Doctor degree from Santa Barbara College of Law. Her host organization is Mixteco Indigena Community Organizing Project (MICOP) in Oxnard, California.
