Joshuel Calderon is motivated to pursue a career in child advocacy because, as a child, he confronted domestic violence and abuse with his father. As a child of divorce, Joshuel experienced custody hearings, supervised visitations, and court ordered therapy sessions. Upon graduation, Joshuel plans to either join a clinic or a non profit that provides low cost legal services to parents dealing with domestic violence and/or dangerous households that need legal support. Joshuel knows what it is like to not have two parents in the house, and he wants to help children and parents through the complicated legal process of divorce. Joshuel is a 1L at the UCLA School of Law.
