Janine Parchment is active in the Student Bar Association, the Dean’s Student Advisory Committee, and the Black Law Students Association (BLSA). As the President of BLSA, Janine saw a financial need among Black students and is piloting an inaugural scholarship fund. Janine is currently an intern at Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP, where she plans to work as a litigation attorney after passing the California Bar Exam. A southern girl born and raised in Georgia, Janine noticed a lack of representation in the field of law, which led to limiting beliefs about her potential. As an adult, she mentors girls from at-risk neighborhoods who share those limiting beliefs. Janine plans to keep chipping away at those glass ceilings as so many have done before her, proving to future generations that they, too, belong at the table. Janine is a 3L attending the University of San Diego School of Law.
