Heliya Izadpanah’s passion for social and environmental justice stems from her own experiences and direct observations of racism, misogyny, and homophobia, human rights abuse, and animal abuse. She plans to use her J.D. to work with nonprofits on impact litigation and legislative reform at the intersection of environmental and social justice. After a few decades of practice, she plans to use her experiences to teach a law clinic at a law school, fostering growth in a new generation of attorneys and providing pro bono services to vulnerable communities. Heliya is a 1L at UCLA School of Law.
