Gabby Sergi is a 3L at UC Hastings College of the Law. As an openly queer first-generation Salvadoran and child of a formerly incarcerated parent, Gabby brings a unique perspective to the legal field. She has been able to connect and advocate for minority communities behind bars and in higher education, by using the various parts of her own identity as fuel for change. Gabby recognizes the significance of being able to attend law school and take the Bar Exam as only about 4% of lawyers identify as LGBT+ and 2% identify as Latina. After graduating, Gabby plans on continuing to help diversify educational spaces, and advocate for those impacted by the criminal justice system.
