A first-generation college graduate, Drew Jones seeks to become a lawyer out of a desire to to effect structural change. She was heavily influenced by her experiences growing up and teaching for two years in low-income communities of color. Working to make a positive difference in the lives of individual students helped Drew realize that she could make change on a larger scale by going to law school. She is interested in public service, specifically civil rights and racial justice work. Drew hopes to positively influence the legal system by increasing access to the system for people from under resourced communities of color. She is involved in the Black Law Students Association, the Yale Civil Rights and Capital Assistance Projects, and Yale Law and Policy Review. Drew is a 1L at Yale Law School.
