Blake wants to become a public interest lawyer after his own experience with addiction and LGBTQ+ discrimination. As a formerly incarcerated person, he brings a unique perspective to his classes and the courtroom. He wants to work for the public defender’s office and eventually create better criminal justice policy that prioritize mental health treatment over harsh sentences, and occupational training for people who are actively or formerly incarcerated. Blake is a 1L in the David J. Epstein Public Interest Law & Policy Program and Critical Race Studies Specialization at UCLA School of Law.
