2024 California Ballot Measures

Yes

Prop 3

Right to Marry and Repeal Prop 8

Description

Proposition 3 undoes Prop 8 (2008) by removing the language from the California Constitution stating that marriage is only between a man and a woman, and recognize fundamental right to marry, regardless of sex or race. ChangeLawyers believes in the protecting and sending the humanity of all LGBTQIA+ people, and Proposition 3 does this by removing discriminatory language.

Yes

Prop 6

End Involuntary Servitude as Punishment for Crime

Description

Proposition 6 amends the California Constitution to remove provision that allows for involuntary servitude to punish crime (i.e., forcing incarcerated persons to work). ChangeLawyers wants to protect the dignity of all people, and Proposition 6 does this by ending slavery in California.

No

Prop 36

Mandated Felonies Initiative

Description

Proposition 36 rolls back the progress of Prop 47 and reignites the war on drugs. Simple drug possession will become a felony and crucial funding for victims, crime prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation will be slashed. ChangeLawyers envisions a future with fewer overly punitive sentencing laws and a successful reintegration of formerly incarcerated people back into society. Proposition 36 puts these goals in jeopardy.
