Karina Damian is the daughter of undocumented and low-income immigrants, and has faced countless hardships with the American legal system. She witnessed her community disproportionately impacted by the legal system and knew early on that her unique worldview combined with a legal education could help overlooked groups. She plans to work at a legal organization or law firm that aligns with her mission to uplift legally underserved groups and work towards making the law and legal representation more accessible. Karina wants to use her experience as a public interest lawyer to shift public policy and possibly become a professor later in her career. She is a 1L at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.
