Raised by a single mother in the barrio (the hood) in Tucson, Arizona, Evelyn Sanchez Gonzalez witnessed her mom’s health deteriorate from gender violence, healthcare inequities, and housing insecurity. She is pursuing a J.D. to create long-term changes through law and policy to help those suffering from socio-economic injustices. She plans provide direct assistance to those dealing with homelessness, domestic violence, and immigration issues. Upon graduation, her goal is to work on impact litigation and policy advocacy to effect change on a large scale, while also continuing to provide direct assistance. Evelyn is a 1L at UCLA School of Law.
