Edwin Chikukwa is interested in commercial litigation and trial advocacy. He serves as the Co-President of the UCLA Law Trial team, and has won four tournaments and three national championships during his time on the Law Trial team, which is ranked #1 in the nation. He also served as a student liaison for the Los Angeles County Bar Association and Alumni Chair for the Black Law Student Association. As Alumni Chair, Edwin led efforts to raise over $105,000 for black law students. Prior to law school, he was the Cash for College Coordinator for the California Student Aid Commission, coordinating workshops across the state of California that assisted students and families with filling out their financial aid applications. During his time in Sacramento, he also worked as a senate fellow in the California Legislature. Edwin has also led two statewide campaigns that resulted in the state of California awarding 10 million dollars in summer financial aid to low-income students during his time in college. He was able to accomplish this while completing, publishing, and presenting an honors thesis on Central American Economies under the guidance of UCSB’s Political Science Department Chair. Edwin is a 3L at UCLA School of Law.
