Ashley Baadsgaard is motivated to pursue a career in civil litigation as an advocate for survivors of abuse. She spent a decade working with children and families as a teacher and volunteer advocate before law school and plans to continue serving this community upon graduation in her capacity as an attorney. Ashley was a closeted queer who grew up in a small religious community where she was abused and trafficked for her entire childhood. She left the community and her abusive marriage with two young children at just 24 years old. She was able to transform pain into triumph and single handedly pulled herself and her children out of poverty while pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming an attorney. She is thrilled to be graduating with her J.D. and an additional certification in Children’s Advocacy in May of 2025. Ashley is a 3L at USF School of Law.
