Anthonya James is a 3L at UCI School of Law. She was motivated to become a lawyer after witnessing the many ways America’s justice system abuses Black men and women. She has seen first hand how a general lack of knowledge about the justice system has made life harder for people of color. As a law student, Anthonya has helped formerly incarcerated folks and survivors of domestic violence. After passing the California Bar, she plans on working with a non-profit organization that secures housing, health care, and a strong safety net for Californians with low incomes.
