Legal Education Access Pipeline (LEAP) helps students from diverse backgrounds access law school and the legal profession. The fellows in LEAP’s programs represent social identities that have been particularly underrepresented in places of leadership in the profession. The LEAP fellowship program works to educate our participants about different kinds of leadership and opportunities to lead when they enter the profession. Additionally, the application process for law school, inside knowledge into the profession and how to succeed in applications, expensive LSAT prep, knowledge about how to obtain financial aid for law school, and connections to the field are all far more difficult to access for those who have had limited exposure to the legal field. Their programs effectively address common barriers to law school, including LSAT scores, timely filing of competitive application materials, financing law school, necessary soft skills, and access to mentoring and networks. Legal Education Access Pipeline received $30,000 in funding for 2022 and 2023 and $40,000 in funding for 2024.
