Legal Empowerment Fund

2024 application is now closed.
The Legal Empowerment Fund is a new funding opportunity launched by California ChangeLawyers. Immigration Legal Fellowship

This Legal Fellowship is a two year capacity building and professional development program for recent law graduates to become deportation defense practitioners in the Central Valley and Central Coast regions. The current cohort of ten fellows are placed across 7 Host Organizations, most of which have never provided deportation defense services to their communities. This inaugural cohort started in January of 2021, and has significanly increased the number of qualified immigration attorneys defending California residents against family separation.
