Isha Thornton is a first-generation law student who is pursuing a career in entertainment law. Thornton was born and raised in Baltimore and graduated from the University of Miami in 2022 with a degree in Public Relations. Currently, Isha is Co-President of the UCLA Entertainment Law Association, a member of BLSA, and an Admissions Ambassador. She is also a clinician in the Street Law Clinic and has been spending the semester teaching the law to high school students in South Central LA. Outside of school, Thornton has held several entertainment law internships at major entertainment companies and firms around LA including the Walt Disney Company, Ziffren Brittenham LLP, Legendary Entertainment, and more. She founded her own organization called Assist & Lift (A&L) where she provides minority students with free law school application assistance. Thornton’s background as an underprivileged Black woman fuels her desire to give back to her community. As an attorney, she aspires to continue helping students through A&L while simultaneously offering legal assistance, knowledge, and mentorship to marginalized students in LA. Isha is a 3L at UCLA School of Law.
